To cancel a Planet Fitness membership, there are only really three ways to do so. You will need to visit your home gym in person or write a postal letter. There is also an app called DoNotPay that will help you cancel your membership. Planet Fitness doesn’t allow you to cancel your membership by phone or online!
- To cancel in person: Visit your home club’s front desk and request a cancellation form.
- To cancel via certified mail: Write a letter that explains your intent to cancel your membership and includes your name, address, phone number, and Planet ID membership number. Address it to your home club, and Planet Fitness recommends sending it via certified mail. You’ll want to follow up with the club to make sure your application was received, approved, and processed.
Some information you will need on hand is the following:
- Your membership ID number
- Date of birth
- Address
- Last four digits of your credit card
- The address of your home gym
- The manager’s name
It is important to know that you will not get a refund after the cancellation. Even if you make sure to cancel early in the billing cycle, Planet Fitness will not offer a refund.
If you have tried all methods and are still getting charged, please contact their Member Services department.
DoNotPay App
Here is how you can cancel Planet Fitness with DoNotPay:
- Open DoNotPay using your web browser
- Then, tap on “Find Hidden Money”
- Next, type in “Planet Fitness” to select the service you wish to cancel
Once the account is cancelled, you will receive an email from DoNotPay.
